Meet Sam.

Sam is passionate about delivering delicious, quality produce for his customers to serve at their tables. A second-generation butcher, this man knows his meat.

Having been brought up in the family business, Sam has a wealth of experience and skills in traditional butchery. He also has the energy, vision and ambition to take his business forward in order to meet the demands of a modern consumer. In short, he wants to offer his customers more.

Sam is particularly proud of his dry-aged beef, aged in-house for between 30-40 days for the very best flavour. Nothing him makes him happier than seeing a dry-aged Tomahawk steak being barbecued on his Traeger Grill.

Our vision now is to create a modern brand, in-tune with our customers and their busy lives.

We know our customers value quality, along with the knowledge that we are passionate about the welfare of animals from which our free range meat comes. We deliver quality meats throughout the UK keeping original, traditional values in our approach.

Built on tradition

In 2009, the family team of husband and wife Trevor and Jo Fuller, along with their son, Sam opened their first first butcher’s shop in the village of Sheering near Bishop’s Stortford. After a number of successful years, Fullers Family Butchers relocated to Brett’s Farm in the beautiful village of White Roding, bringing with them a long-standing reputation for traditional, locally sourced, quality produce, along with their distinct, personalised approach to good old-fashioned customer service.

In late 2018, Trevor and Jo stepped back from the business and Sam Fuller became sole owner of the business. Wanting to bring his own, unique personality into the business and with a ton of ideas to even better serve his customers, Sam took the decision to rebrand the business. And so in early 2019, Meat & Cleaver was born.

At the heart of our new brand ‘Meat & Cleaver’ is a celebration of everything that made Fullers Family Butchers so special. We’ve combined these different aspects of our business including, quality meat, highly-skilled butchery and a drive to adapt what we do to fit the lifestyles of our customers, all come together to deliver a flexible, first class service to our customers.

Our vision now is to create a modern brand, in tune with our customers and their busy lives. We know our customers value quality, along with the knowledge that we are passionate about the welfare of animals from which our free range meat comes.
